Meet Ari Starks

Ari is a traveling tattoo artist originally from Maryland, specializing in ornamental bodywork and large-scale compositions designed around anatomy, movement, and visual balance

Her work is deeply inspired by old African adornment, Black architecture and infrastructure, symbolism, fashion, texture, and the quiet beauty found in everyday visuals and environments. She approaches tattooing as both composition and storytelling, creating pieces that feel integrated with the body rather than placed on top of it

Ari is drawn to the small details people often overlook — aged materials, shape language, placement, contrast, emotion, and the way certain visuals hold memory and feeling. That perspective heavily influences both her design process and the atmosphere surrounding her work.
